Mavericks Injury Update: Raymond Felton will begin his four-game suspension on Sunday

The Dallas Mavericks head into today's game against the Miami Heat coming off a 105-82 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday night. At 4-2, the Mavericks are third in the Southwest Division. The Mavericks have been without guard Raymond Felton due to an ankle injury. Although ready to play physically, the Mavericks will have to wait another four games for Felton while he serves his suspension.

Our own Eric Black wrote on November 6 that Felton continued to miss action due to a high ankle sprain.  . Felton was only expected to miss ten days following the injury on October 10, but the injury was taking longer to heal than anticipated. 

Now Felton will have to serve his suspension before getting on the court. Earl K. Sneed, who covers the Mavericks for, tweeted the following on Felton's status.
Eddie Sefko at also added that Felton has no physical limitations, according to Mavericks' officials. He will start his suspension today if the NBA office feels Felton is recovered enough to play. It's possible it could be pushed back to Tuesday night's game against the Kings.

Felton, in his 10th NBA season, averaged 9.7 points and 5.6 assists in 65 games for the New York Knicks last season. The veteran point guard has played for the Bobcats, Nuggets, Knicks and Trail Blazers and has career averages of 13.1 points, 6.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game.
