Oilers Injury Update: Nikitin, Fasth both returned on Tuesday

By on 11/04/2014 10:12:00 PM

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Nikita Nikitin returned to the lineup on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers. He missed three games with back spasms. Goaltender Viktor Fasth also played his first game since October 14, missing the entire second half of October with a groin injury.

Prior to getting hurt, Nikitin had played in eight games for the Oilers. He had a goal and two assists. Last season, he played 66 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He scored two goals and added 13 assists.

Nikitin's return comes at a good time for the Oilers, as defenseman Andrew Ference was just suspended for three games.

In his return, he finished with 21:12 TOI, two shots on goal, and a blocked shot.

Viktor Fasth played in his third game of the season. He stopped 21 of 25 shots in a 4-1 loss. His record on the season is now 0-2-1, with a 4.70 GAA and a .861 save percentage.
