Oilers Injury Update: Taylor Hall out 2-4 weeks [Video]

Bad news for the Edmonton Oilers, as forward Taylor Hall is expected to miss the next 2-4 weeks with an MCL sprain, as confirmed by the team on their official Twitter account. The injury occurred at the start of the second period in Saturday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks.

As can be seen, Hall is speeding down the right side, and gets hit by Canucks defenseman Christopher Tanev. Hall falls and slams his leg into the goal post.

The 22-year-old has had another good start to the season. His six goals leads the team. Add to that four assist, and his 10 points also leads the Oilers.

The team and Hall can be considered somewhat lucky. The scary play is very similar to what happened to Lightning forward Steven Stamkos last season, who broke his leg and missed months of action.

The team has had an interesting start to the season. They've lost all six games against Western Conference teams. However, they were able to string together a four-game winning streak, all against Eastern Conference teams.

This is obviously a big loss to the team, as Hall's point production cannot be easily replaced.
