By on 11/01/2014 01:00:00 PM

The Detroit Pistons are off to an 0-2 start to the 2014-2015 season following a 97-91 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night. At 30th in the NBA in points per game after two games, the Pistons need an offensive spark tonight against the Brooklyn Nets to get into the win column. The Pistons could be without power forward Cartier Martin for the third straight game, as he continues to battle a foot injury.

David Mayo, who covers the Pistons for MLive Media Group at mlive.com, tweeted the following on Martin's status.
Martin, third on the depth chart at power forward behind Josh Smith and Jonas Jerebko, will have a difficult time getting back on the court when he returns. Smith is averaging 17.5 points and six rebounds per game, while Jerebko is averaging 5.5 points in 13 minutes per game off the bench.

Martin, in his seventh NBA season, has played for the Bobcats, Warriors, Wizards, Hawks, Bulls and Pistons. He averaged 5.6 points in 59 games last season. In 220 career games, Martin has an average of 5.4 points on 39.7 percent shooting from the floor to go along with two rebounds per game.
