Ryan McDonagh of the New York Rangers sustained a shoulder injury and may possibly be back in time to play back-to-back games against the Philadelphia Flyers on November 28th and 29th.

The Rangers defenseman sustained his should injury in the first period of the Rangers 1-0 shootout loss on November 1st against the Winnipeg Jets, when he was checked into the boards by Jets forward Evander Kane, according to the NHL website. McDonagh injured the same shoulder on April 1st during a game against the Vancouver Canucks, that forced him to miss New York's five final games of the 2013-14 regular season.

McDonagh skated at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday for the first time since he sustained his injury and wristed "dozens of pucks" into an empty net at one end of the rink, as per News Day, saying he's "feeling good, coming along."

McDonagh has three points (three assists) so far this season.
