Rangers Injury Update: Ryan McDonagh to be out 3-4 weeks

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh is expected to miss the next 3 to 4 weeks with a shoulder injury, as reported by Josh Gold-Smith of theScore. The injury occurred in Saturday's game against the Winnipeg Jets, when Jets forward Evander Kane hit McDonagh into the boards.

The 25-year-old blue-liner and team captain has played in all 10 games this season for the team. He has yet to score a goal, but has three assists. In the 2013-14 season, he played in 77 game, finishing with 14 goals and 29 assists.

There is high hopes for McDonagh. He had somewhat of a breakout year last season, being able to showcase his talent as the Rangers went to the Stanley Cup Finals. He was named captain of the team over the summer.

He has been averaging over 24 minutes per game for most of his career, playing against the opposition's top forwards. This is obviously a difficult loss for the Rangers.
