Red Wings Injury Update: Datsyuk targets return Friday vs. Blackhawks

By on 11/10/2014 04:25:00 PM

Pavel Datsyuk has told reporters that he does hope to return to the ice in time for Friday's game against Chicago Blackhawks.

The Detroit Red Wings forward sustained a groin injury last Friday morning during practice. Although groin injuries tend to linger from a week to 10 days, a small portion of the Red Wings schedule should see Datsyuk only miss two games.

Datsyuk made his season debut on October 21st after suffering a shoulder injury during pre-season. He so far has 10 points and five goals in just eight games. Joakim Andersson has taken Datsyuk's place in the lineup.
