Sixers Injury Update: Jerami Grant could return to practice this week

By on 11/04/2014 11:30:00 AM

The Philadelphia 76ers are off to an 0-4 start in the 2014-2015 season following a 104-93 loss to the Houston Rockets last night. At 28th in points scored and 25th in points allowed, the team has been dismal and difficult to watch and clearly in a rebuilding process that could take several seasons. On the injury front, rookie Jerami Grant could return to practice this week after battling a right foot injury. He'll likely play in the D-League upon his return.

I reported on October 30 that Grant,  who is out right a right foot injury, was expected to return on November 5. Although that wont be the case, there is positive news on his recovery.

Tom Moore, 76ers beat writer for Calkins Media, tweeted the following update on Grant.
Grant, currently third on the depth chart at small forward behind Chris Johnson and JaKarr Sampson, could make a push for playing time should he get some seasoning in the D-League.

Grant was the 39th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Syracuse. The 20-year old forward averaged just 3.9 points in 14.3 minutes per game as a freshman.  Last season, Grant averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds in 31.4 minutes per game last season.
