Stars Injury Update: John Klingberg recalled, place Val Nichushkin on IR

By on 11/10/2014 05:33:00 PM

The Dallas Stars have recalled defenseman John Klingberg, who will be up in time to face the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday. Valeri Nichushkin has been put back on the injured reserved list, according to Blackout Dallas.

Nichushkin's previous injuries (hip/groin) from training camp have still been bothering him; The Stars hope that more rest will help him fully recover. Nichushkin has not played since October 11th and is pointless in two games with a minus one rating.

Klingberg being recalled could be a sign of relief for the Dallas Stars. According to Defending Big D, Klingberg has been impressive in 10 games with four goals and eight assists in Austin this season, registering 12 points. The blue-liner possesses a set of skills that could greatly help the Stars get out of their own end, help the powerplay, and provide the coveted right-handed shot.
