Steelers Injury Update: Troy Polamalu, Ryan Shazier

By on 11/05/2014 12:15:00 PM

The red hot Ben Roethlisberger led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a big division win on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Unfortunately for the Steelers, veteran safety Troy Polamalu was forced to the leave the game after suffering a sprained knee, while rookie linebacker, Ryan Shazier, also had to leave the game after suffering a sprained ankle. It looks like Big Ben will have to stay hot in week ten against the New York Jets with both Polamalu and Shazier ruled out for the defense.

Around the NFL reported on Twitter:
This will be the first game since 2012 that Troy Polamalu will miss according to NFL.com, and will be the fifth for Ryan Shazier in just his first NFL season. Will Allen is expected to take over for Polamalu, with Sean Spence taking Shazier's reps.
