Texans Injury Report: Arian Foster, Jadeveon Clowney, Brian Cushing

By on 11/15/2014 06:00:00 PM

The Houston Texans, with Ryan Mallett as their new starting quarterback, head north to Cleveland to take on the Browns on Sunday afternoon. A big blow to the their offense will be the downgrade of Arian Foster from questionable to out. ESPN reports that Foster will not make the trip as he continues to rehab his injured groin.

Arian Foster injured the groin in week nine against the Philadelphia Eagles and even with the week 10 bye, he was not able to recover enough to give it a go on Sunday. In his absence, rookie Alfred Blue will get the start at running back.

On a more positive note, OLB Jadeveon Clowney and ILB Brian Cushing are both listed as probable and their presence should help their defense out greatly. Clowney is still recovering from a knee injury suffered in week one and missed week nine with an illness. Cushing has been battling a knee injury that forced him to miss the last two games in weeks eight and nine. He is having a down year for his standards, registering double digit tackles in just one game while recording just one sack.

Along with Foster, CB Kareem Jackson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game. CB's Johnathan Joseph (concussion/knee) and Darryl Morris (knee), OLB's Brooks Reed (groin) and John Simon (ankle) and ILB's Jeff Tarpinian (knee) and Justin Tuggle (shoulder) were all full participant in Friday's practice and listed as probable according to the Texans official injury report.
