Tigers Injury Update: Re-signed Joel Hanrahan should be ready for spring training

The Detroit Tigers have much to look forward to for the 2015 season following a 90-win season and an appearance in the ALDS. At second in the Major Leagues in runs scored, the Tigers should be set at the plate next season. The area of improvement is with the pitching staff that ranked 24th in ERA. One pitcher who the Tigers hope can contribute is Joel Hanrahan, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery and should be ready next season.

Hanrahan had Tommy John surgery a year and a half ago. The Tigers signed Hanrahan in May in hopes that he could be a contributor the second half of the season. Hanrahan progressed in his rehab, almost ready to pitch in some Minor League games before dealing with stiffness in his arm.

Jason Beck, who covers the Tigers for, tweeted the following update on Hanrahan.
Hanrahan, a seven-year Major League veteran, has pitched for the Nationals, Pirates and Red Sox. Last season, he 0-1 with four saves in nine game with an ERA of 9.82. He allowed 10 hits, four home runs and six walks in 7 1/3 innings. Hanrahan has a career record of 22-18 with 100 saves and an ERA of 3.85.
