Timberwolves Injury Update: Kevin Martin fractures right wrist

By on 11/21/2014 05:39:00 PM

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Friday that Kevin Martin is out indefinitely with a fractured right wrist, sustained during Wednesday's night game versus the New York Knicks. According to the AP, the Wolves are still determining whether or not Martin will need surgery.

Martin was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer with 6:48 remaining in the first quarter of Wednesday's game and broke the wrist on the fall from the shot. Martin remained in the game and proceeded to shoot 6 of 9 on three-pointers for a season-high 37 points. The injury is a sudden blow to a team already reeling from point guard Ricky Rubio's sprained ankle. Martin is the team's leading scorer at 20.4 PPG and now the team will have to find a new source of offense from the perimeter heading into tonight's game versus the San Antonio Spurs, and beyond.
