The Minnesota Timberwolves fell to 2-4 on the season following a 102-92 loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday. The Timberwolves were lead by Nikola Pekovic who had 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Timberwolves were without guard Ricky Rubio, who is out indefinitely with a bad ankle sprain. Zach LaVine started for Rubio and have five points, six rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes.

I reported on November 8 that Rubio left the previous night's game against the Orlando Magic in the second quarter with an ankle injury.

Jeff Zillgitt, NBA reporter for USA TODAY Sports, tweeted the following update on Rubio. news services also noted that Rubio, who agreed to a four-year contract worth $55 million on October 31, is on crutches wearing a walking boot.  With Rubio out, expect Mo Williams to see the bulk of the minutes at the point, with rookie LaVine seeing more significant time on the court.

Rubio, who cannot put any weight on his ankle, will return home after Monday and will be evaluated in a couple weeks.
Rubio, in his fourth NBA season, is averaging 10.8 points, 11 assists and 6.3 rebounds per game this season. In 184 career games, all with the Timberwolves, Rubio is averaging 10.2 points, 8.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.
