Trailblazers Injury Update: CJ McCollum broke finger in three places, will not need surgery

The Portland Trail Blazers head in to Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls coming off a 102-93 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.  Damian Lillard lead the Trail Blazers with 24 points and seven assists. The win improved the Trail Blazers to 8-3, first in the Northwest Division. On the injury front, backup shooting guard C.J. McCollum broke his finger in three places on Monday and will be out indefinitely.

Casey Holdahl, digital reporter for the Portland Trail Blazers, tweeted the following on McCollum.
According to the Associated Press through, McCollum broke his finger during Monday's game against the Pelicans. The injury occurred when he grabbed a rebound in the fourth quarter and fouled by Eric Gordon.  The is no indication how much time McCollum will miss, but will be re-examined in four weeks.

McCollum, a second-year guard out of Lehigh, became known around the country when he lead Lehigh to a shocking first-round defeated of Duke in the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

McCollum is averaging five points on 37.2 percent shooting from the floor, 45.8 percent from three-point range and 70.6 percent from the free throw line. In 49 career NBA games, McCollum is averaging 5.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in nearly 13 minutes per game.
