Vikings Injury Update: Kyle Rudolph, Jerick McKinnon, Chase Ford

By on 11/14/2014 12:15:00 PM

Coming off a bye week, the Minnesota Vikings are relatively healthy as they prepare to take on the division rival Chicago Bears on Sunday. Ahead of Friday's official injury report, here is a look at the Vikings' practice report from Thursday.

Tight end Kyle Rudolph went down with a groin injury in Week 3, and he has been sidelined ever since after undergoing sports hernia surgery. He has been making consistent progress recently, and after practicing fully on Thursday he looks all but certain to return for Sunday's game against Chicago.

Chase Ford (foot) has filled in admirably for Rudolph, and after participating fully in practice on Wednesday and Thursday he should maintain a prominent role against the Bears.

Rookie running back Jerick McKinnon showed up on Thursday's injury report with a lower back issue, which limited his activity. The official designation of his status may tell us a lot, but it would be a surprise to see McKinnon miss Sunday's game.

The only other player listed on Thursday's injury report was rookie defensive end Scott Crichton, who sat out with a hip issue. At this point he looks likely to be inactive on Sunday.
