The Minnesota Wild were without their leading scorer, Zach Parise, for the entire third period of their 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. He was unable to return to the ice after suffering an upper-body injury during the second period.

Dhlren Mahlban from Pro Hockey Talk reported that Parise suffered his injury during the second period. The team believes that he was injured while being cross-checked to the ice by Blake Comeau around the 5:44 mark of the second period. The Wild expect to have an update on his injury after practice on Wednesday.  He is the leading scorer for the Wild with four goals and six assists through 11 games. He also currently ranks 7th in the NHL for total shots with 47.

Minnesota is 7-4-0 and heads to Ottawa for their next game on Thursday.
