76ers Injury Update: Tony Wroten could make his return Wednesday

By on 12/07/2014 11:00:00 AM

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Detroit Pistons on Saturday by the score of 108-101. Michael Carter-Williams lead the 76ers with 20 points, 15 assists and eight rebounds in the win. Although just 2-18 on the season, the 76ers have won two of their last three games and have been playing much better basketball of late. On the injury front, guard Tony Wroten could return Wednesday after being out with a knee injury.

According to Rotoworld Basketball Twitter account,
Dei Lynam of CSNPhilly.com added that head coach Brett Brown indicated that Wroten, who has missed the last five games with a sprained right knee, could return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks.
"There is a chance he could play Wednesday. From listening to our medical people, it seems that Tony is closer than Alexey (Shved)."
With Alexey Shved also out, there has been little rest for Carter-Williams, so the return of Wroten will be welcome and an added boost to the back court.

Wroten, in his third NBA season out of Washington, is averaging 17.9 points and 6.3 assists per game.Wroten was excellent in a starting role while Michael Carter-Williams was out of the lineup. In 122 career games with the Kings and 76ers, Wroten has averages of 10.6 points and 2.9 assists per game.
