76ers Injury Update: Tony Wroten is expected to be in the lineup for Wednesday's game

By on 12/09/2014 01:00:00 PM

After starting the season losing their first 17 games, the Philadelphia 76ers have played better, winning two of their last three. Heading into Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks, the 76ers are expecting to get an additional boost with the return of Tony Wroten to the lineup. Wroten has missed the previous five games with an ankle injury.

According to our official Twitter account,
Max Rappaport of also noted Wroten's status.
I previously reported on December 7 that Wroten, who has missed the last five games with a sprained right knee, could return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks.

Wroten's return will provided much needed depth in the back court and give starter Michael Carter-Williams, who have averaged over 43 minutes over the past three games, some additional rest.

Wroten, in his third NBA season out of Washington, is averaging 17.9 points and 6.3 assists per game.Wroten was excellent in a starting role while Michael Carter-Williams was out of the lineup. In 122 career games with the Kings and 76ers, Wroten has averages of 10.6 points and 2.9 assists per game.
