Athletics Injury Update: Stephen Vogt expects to be ready for Opening Day

The Oakland Athletics head into the winter looking to add some finishing touches to a team that won 88-game and secured a wild card playoff spot. Although they lost in the Wild Card Game, the A's were excellent all season, ranked fourth in runs scored and third in ERA. On the injury front, Stephen Vogt should be ready for Opening Day, despite being slightly behind in his rehab from foot surgery.

Our own Pete Schwichtenberg reported on October 16 that Vogt's foot surgery went well and he's looking at a six-to-eight week timetable for his rehab. He's expected to be ready for Spring Training.

Jane Lee, who covers the A's for, tweeted the following update on Vogt.
Vogt hit .279 with nine home runs and 35 RBI in 269 at bats this season. Vogt has played for the Rays and A's over parts of the last three seasons and has a career batting average of .254 with 13 home runs and 51 RBI in 149 games.
