Vontaze Burfict was placed on season-ending injured reserve after his knee had not fully healed following the October 29th surgery. According to head coach Marvin Lewis, Vontaze Burfict will need to make a decision in the next few days on whether or not to have more surgery on his knee. Burfict with either need surgery or more rehabilitation. After initially stating that Burfict will be ready by the start of next season, Lewis backed away from his statement, saying "I shouldn't put a timeline on it."

A third year player out of Arizona State, Vontaze Burfict had not missed a game in his first two seasons as a pro. In addition to the last six games Burfict has missed since his October knee surgery, Burfict missed two games earlier this season due to a concussion.
