Montreal Canadiens defenseman Bryan Allen's doctors are concerned that he has contracted mumps.

According to Go Habs Go, the contagious disease has been spreading rapidly. Anaheim Ducks' and Allen's former team mates Corey Perry and Francois Beauchemin were diagnosed with the mumps in early November. The incubation period is between two and three weeks while the main symptoms resemble those of the flu. Another Canadiens defenseman, P.K. Subban missed Thursday morning's skate due to flu-like symptoms, as per a tweet made by the Montreal Canadiens twitter account, but is expected to play against the Los Angeles Kings at the Bell Centre on Friday. All of the players on the Canadiens roster have been vaccinated in an attempt to prevent the spread of the disease.

Allen was traded to the Montreal Canadiens on November 20th in exchange for forward Rene Bourque.

Allen has one point (one assist) so far with the Canadiens, while Subban has 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists).
