Green was almost ready for the game on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils, but decided to take a few more days to make sure he was 100% ready. He does not want to return and have setbacks.
Green was only supposed to be out a couple of days and it has been much longer then that.
He has said, “It’s frustrating because you hope it’s a day-to-day injury,” “At the most, five to six days. And here we are. I’m anxious to get back, but we’ve got to be smart. That’s the last thing you want, is setbacks. That’s more frustrating than taking a day or two to make sure you’re 100 percent.”
“Haven’t skated with the team, so didn’t know how to gauge it,” “After seeing the pace, doing a little bit of battling, it’s not quite ready for tomorrow. Don’t want to be a hazard on the ice. Just getting that strength and being able to shoot completely and pass the puck firm and make the plays. The game’s so quick, you’re going to get hit even harder if you can’t move or make those plays.”
So far this season Green has played 19 games, has 3 goals and 9 assists.
