Cardinals insider Mike Jurecki reported yesterday that Ellington is dealing with a hip injury related to Sunday's game:
#Cardinals RB Andre Ellington suffered a hip pointer in yesterday's game, could be back this week or next week.Arizona's rushing game has averaged 74.8 yards per game this season. Only Oakland's paltry 72.5 yards per game is worse, and Oakland's issues have more to do with continuously playing from behind, than an inability to run the ball. If Ellington is unable to go this week, even more pressure will be placed on quarterback Drew Stanton as he'll have to rely on rookie Marion Grice and second year back Stepfan Taylor. The two have a combined 36 carries for 112 yards this season, equaling the team average of 3.1 ypc.

Defensively, free safety Mathieu broke his thumb during Sunday's game and will have surgery tomorrow morning according to Cardinals reporter Darren Urban:
Tyrann Mathieu will have surgery tomorrow on his thumb fracture. He will be out "a couple weeks" according to the team, then play with cast.Facing one of the least explosive offenses in the league, the Cardinals likely couldn't have picked a better time to be without Mathieu. However, with a Thursday matchup with the Rams following this Sunday's game, its likely Mathieu will miss that game as well.
