Chiefs Injury Update: Jamaal Charles has 'tender' knee

By on 12/09/2014 11:30:00 AM

The Kansas City Chiefs offense on a weekly basis revolves around the abilities of RB Jamaal Charles. He is a threat as a rusher, obviously, and leads the team in touchdown receptions with five. Heading into the Chiefs Week 14 contest, Charles was dealing with a bruised knee, but he was able to practice in full all week and be productive once again on Sunday. Following their loss to the Arizona Cardinals, coach Andy Reid said Charles is once again dealing with a tender knee and an ankle issue.

Bj Kissel on Twitter reported what coach Andy Reid had to say:
His workload in practice may be affected this week as the Chiefs prepare to take on the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. Fantasy owners should cross their fingers that he is able to play at a high level against a Raiders defense that has allowed the fourth most points to opposing running backs. Owners should look to pick up Knile Davis just in case Charles can not play.

His workload at practice should be followed closely throughout the remainder of the week. Charles, like most running backs, gets bumps and bruises on a weekly basis during the grueling 16 game NFL season. It's not time to be concerned at this point, but is definitely worth monitoring.
