Diamondbacks Injury Update: Chris Owings should be ready to start season

By on 12/11/2014 06:30:00 AM

The Arizona Diamondbacks struggled to 64 wins this past season and finished 30 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. At 25th in runs scored and 26th in ERA, the Padres struggled both at the plate and on the mound. Injuries also took their toll, as only two players appears in 130 or more games and only one pitcher made 30 or more starts. There is some good news on the injury front, as Chris Owings is recovering nicely from shoulder surgery and should be ready for the start of next season

I reported in early October that Owings, who was having problems with his shoulder that he injured on June 20, was set to undergo surgery.

Jack Magruder, who covers the Diamondbacks for, tweeted the following update on Owings.
Owings, in his first full Major League season, hit .261 with six home runs and 26 RBI in 91 games. He's appeared in 111 career games and has a batting average of .266 with six home runs and 31 RBI.
