The Charlotte Hornets enter tonight's game against the New York Knicks coming off a 102-95 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Kemba Walker lead the Hornets with 23 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free throw line. With the loss, the Hornets dropped to 4-15 on the season, last in the Southeast Division. On the injury front, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist continues to miss action and wont return to the lineup until next Wednesday, at the earliest.

I reported on November 17 that Kidd-Gilchrist, who was dealing with a stress fracture, was expected to miss a few games. As it turned out, Kidd-Gilchrist is taking longer to heal than anticipated and hasn't appeared in a game since November 11.

Rick Bonnell, who covers the Hornets for the Charlotte Observer, tweeted the following update on Kidd-Gilchrist.
Kidd-Gilchrist, in his third NBA season out of Kentucky, is averaging 9.8 points on 62.5 percent shooting and 5.5 rebounds per game this season. In 62 games last season, he averaged 7.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Kidd-Gilchrist has career averages of 8.3 points on 46.9 percent shooting and 5.6 rebounds per game.
