Hurricanes Injury Update: Cam Ward is day-to-day with a “not that serious” injury

By on 12/04/2014 02:42:00 PM

Carolina Hurricanes' Cam Ward will not play Thursday night's game against the Washington Capitals, but coach Bill Peters says his injury is "not that serious."

The 30-year old goaltender sustained a undisclosed lower-body injury, but coach Peters says, "don’t think it’s that serious, to be honest with you. It’s a day-to-day situation. We’re going to take a day off tomorrow, and we gave him yesterday, so now it’s three [days off] in a row, and we think that’s the right thing to do. He’s been down that road before. We didn’t want to push it", as per Sports Illustrated. Drew MacIntyre has been recalled from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis, according to General Manager Ron Francis, according to Wral Sportsfan.

Ward has 433 saves and a save percentage of .912 so far this season.
