Hurricanes Injury Update: Jordan Staal skates but still no timetable for return

By on 12/06/2014 09:45:00 PM

Carolina Hurricanes are expecting a familiar face back soon. Jordan Staal has started skating.

Even though he has yet to skate with the team, it is good news that Staal has taken the ice. Staal has yet to play a game this season with the Hurricanes after suffering a broken leg during the preseason. He underwent surgery to repair the break, and was expected to miss 3-4 months.

Staal has skated around a bit. He said, “It was nice to get out there again and put on the skates and go for a little stroll. Hopefully it gets a little more intense from now on. There’s still some pain every once in a while and a few different things. From now it’s just trying to get comfortable skating and getting stronger. Start full practices and go from there. Today it felt great.”

No timetable when he will be skating with his teammates or playing again. But he is inching his way closer.
