Jazz Injury Update: Derrick Favors leaves arena in walking boot

The Utah Jazz fell to the Miami Heat on Friday by the score of 100-95. The loss cropped the Jazz to 6-17, fourth in the Northwest Division. Enes Kanter lead the Jazz with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting and eight rebounds. Power forward Derrick Favors left the game with an ankle injury after playing only ten minutes. He was seen leaving the arena in a walking boot.

Aaron Falk, who covers the Jazz for the Salt Lake Tribune, tweeted the following on Favors. added that Favors is likely to miss some playing time. Rudy Gobert picked up the slack with nine points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots in 26 minutes. Expect Gobert and Trevor Booker, who had four points and four rebounds in 14 minutes, to see additional time with Favors out.

Favors, in his fifth NBA season, is averaging 15.6 points on 56.2 percent shooting from the floor and 8.2 rebounds per game. The veteran forward out of Georgia Tech has played for the Nets and Jazz and has career averages of ten points and seven rebounds per game.
