Jets Injury update: Percy Harvin could be done for season

By on 12/08/2014 05:19:00 PM

The New York Jets lost to the Minnesota Vikings in overtime on Sunday, and they also lost playmaking wideout Percy Harvin late in the fourth quarter to an ankle injury. Harvin was ruled out of the game and was seen after the game using crutches to get around.

"I can't talk too much about the injury other than it will be evaluated here in a little bit," Harvin said after torching his first NFL team for 124 yards on six receptions, including a touchdown. (per ESPN)

A report on Monday via the Jets official Twitter account puts Harvin's status for Week 15 in doubt.

As much success as Harvin had against the Vikings on Sunday, his former team has proved to be a bit of an injury jinx for him. In 2012, an ankle injury sidelined him for the rest of the season and was his last game with the Vikings. In 2013, he tried to make a return from a hip injury against the Vikings while playing for the Seattle Seahawks. He aggravated the injury and did not return to action for Seattle until the postseason.

Since coming to the Jets, Harvin has made 25 receptions for 306 yards and one touchdown. Despite being under contract through 2018, it's very likely he becomes a salary cap casualty for the Jets at the end of the season.
