Kings Injury Update: DeMarcus Cousins out until Monday

By on 12/04/2014 06:30:00 AM

The Sacramento Kings fell to the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night by the score of 117-109. Ben McLemore lead the Kings with 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting. The loss dropped the Kings back to the .500 mark at 9-9. At fourth in the Pacific Division, the Kings were again without the services of DeMarcus Cousins, who is battling a viral infection. The good news is that he should be back in the lineup Monday against the Utah Jazz.

I reported on December 2 that Cousins, who has been sick since Friday morning and underwent some tests on Monday, was questionable for the game against the Toronto Raptors.

An update on Cousins, according to the official media release of the Sacramento Kings, is that was admitted to the hospital for treatment and rest. Cousins is recovering from a viral infection and while he wont be in uniform this weekend, should be ready for game action next week.

Cousins, in his fifth NBA season out of Kentucky, is averaging 23.5 points, 12.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game this season. In 306 career NBA games, all with the Kings, Cousins have averages of 18.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
