Maple Leafs Injury Update: Leo Komarov did not return to Saturday's game due to upper-body injury

By on 12/01/2014 01:34:00 AM

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Leo Komarov's status was still not known Sunday, following the blind side hit he absorbed from Washington's Alex Ovechkin in Saturday night's win over the Capitals, but it's expected Komarov will be available for Tuesday's tilt with Dallas, according to SportsNet.

Komarov was undergoing National Hockey League protocol following Saturday's game after a hit to the head from Ovechkin, his former KHL teammate who later came into the Leaf dressing room to apologize and give the Leaf a hug. There was no indication that Komarov was suffering from a concussion.
Ovechkin will not receive any supplementary discipline from the NHL player safety department, according to reports.
