The Miami Marlins won 77 games this past season and finished near the middle of the pack in runs scored and ERA. One move that should improve the Marlins was the signing of Dee Gordon. On the injury front, backup infielder Derek Dietrich injured his ankle and ended his Winter League season on Tuesday.

As reported by Juan C. Rodriguez at, Dietrich injured his ankle on a play at second base during a Dominican League game. The injury occurred when Dietrich collided with a base runner while trying to catch a throw during a stolen base attempt. Fortunately, X-rays were negative but Dietrich's winter ball season is over.
