Nuggets Kenneth Faried is questionable to play Monday, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports. pic.twitter.com/enEXJ26tOOFaried's level of play had dropped off recently, so the news of a recently-suffered back strain makes sense. The power forward out of Moorehead State is coming off a successful summer that saw him make the first team of the FIBA Basketball World Cup. His performance in the international tournament earned him a five-year, $60 million extension from the Nuggets, however he has not played up to the level expected of him following his re-signing. Faried is averaging just 11.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, his lowest averages since his rookie year. The promising big man is in just his fourth season however, and will likely break out of his slump at some point later in the year.

Backup power forward J.J. Hickson earned the start yesterday in Faried's absence, however scored just four points in a loss to Atlanta. Hickson will likely start again tonight if Faried is a no-go for the contest.
