By on 12/05/2014 12:42:00 PM

Pittsburgh Penguins right-winger Patric Hornqvist left Thursday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks midway through the second period with an upper-body injury.

Horqvist was hit by Canucks defenseman Ryan Stanton near the blue line closest to the Vancouver zone as play shifted back the other direction with less than nine minutes remaining in the period. Hornqvist immediately skated toward the bench and walked down the runway to the locker room, as per NHL.com. Hornqvist only had 10 minutes and 16 seconds of game time. Coach Mike Johnston has not provided an update on Hornqvist's condition following the 3-0 loss.

Hornqvist has 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) so far this season.
