Ravens Injury Update: Justin Forsett, Torrey Smith miss practice

By on 12/04/2014 04:14:00 PM

The Baltimore Ravens are preparing to play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday in what is a game with major playoff implications. The Ravens sit behind three teams for a Wild Card spot due to tiebreaker scenarios. The Dolphins currently hold the last Wild Card spot. The last thing Ravens fans want to hear is that two of the team's major offensive starters sat out of practice on Wednesday.

Running back Justin Forsett and wide receiver Torrey Smith both sat out practice on Wednesday with listed knee injuries, according to the team website. Smith is coming along, said Ravens coach John Harbaugh. The Ravens TD catch leader with eight, Smith has never missed a game in his four year NFL career.

Forsett described his sit-out of practice as "regular soreness" and that he expects to play Sunday against the Dolphins. One of the top performing backs in the league, Forsett reached and passed the 1,000 yard mark last week in the Ravens' loss to the Chargers.

Aside from Smith and Forsett, center Jeremy Zuttah and wide receiver Marlon Brown also did not practice on Wednesday. Zuttah was dealing with an ankle issue and Brown was a concussion scratch.

Limited at practice were tight end Crockett Gillmore (back), defensive back Tramain Jacobs (thigh), linebacker Albert McClellan (thigh) and linebacker Courtney Upshaw (hand). Full practice participants were wide receiver Michael Campanaro (thigh) and lineback C.J. Mosley (wrist).
