The Tampa Bay Rays look to improve this winter on a team which won 77 games this past season. At 27th in the Major Leagues in runs scored, offense is the major area of concern. The Rays were solid on the mound, ranked 13th in ERA. On the injury front, left-handed reliever Jake McGee will miss the start of the season following elbow surgery. It's a key early season loss for the Rays, as McGee was excellent in 2014.

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times tweeted the following on McGee.
Topkin also added this about the nature of the surgery and his recovery.
McGee, a five-year Major League veteran, was instrumental out of the Rays' bullpen this past season. in 73 games, he posted a record of 5-2 with 19 saves and an ERA of 1.89. He allowed only 48 hits and struck out 90 in 71 1/3 innings. In 258 career games, McGee is 20-9 with 20 saves and an ERA of 2.83.
