Redskins Injury Update: DeSean Jackson carted off with injury

By on 12/01/2014 10:30:00 AM

The Washington Redskins offense has struggled throughout the year to get in any kind of rhythm and that was evident again on Sunday in their lopsided loss to the Indianapolis Colts. They've used three different quarterbacks in an attempt to right the ship. One of their few offensive bright spots has been WR DeSean Jackson. On Sunday however, the play-maker suffered a lower leg injury and had to be carted off the field. He was not able to return but the prognosis seems to be fairly positive.

Multiple reports have designated the injury as a fibula contusion and The Washington Times reports that X-rays were negative:
DeSean Jackson was injured early in the game on the sideline when a defender fell into his leg. He missed a few plays with a lower leg contusion as PFT reports, but was able to return. In the fourth quarter Jackson was streaking down the sideline and got tangled up with the defensive back and went down grabbing at his lower leg. He needed the help of a cart to get to the locker room and it sure didn't look good.

Jackson was seen limping when he left the locker room after the game and Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington reports he may be seen by team physicians again on Monday depending on how he feels. More information should be known on his outlook going forward over the next couple days.
