Rockets Injury Update: Dwight Howard likely out through the weekend

By on 12/04/2014 06:00:00 AM

The Houston Rockets entered Wednesday's game against the coming off a 117-103 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night. James Harden lead the Rockets with 34 points and seven assists in the win. At 13-4 on the season, the Rockets sit in second place in the Southwest Division. On the injury front, it appears the Rockets will be without center Dwight Howard through the weekend, as he continues to battle a right knee injury.

I reported on November 28 that Howard, who has been out with a right knee strain, would miss the game against the Clippers.

Jonathan Feigen, who covers the Rockets for the Houston Chronicle, tweeted the following quote from coach Kevin McHale on Howard. also added that there basically hasn't been any good news on Howard since he was a late scratch from the lineup against the Lakers on November 19. Expect Tarik Black, Donatas Motiejunas and perhaps Joey Dorsey to see the bulk of the minutes at power forward and center in Howard's absence.

Howard, in his 11th NBA season, is averaging 18. 8 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game this season. The veteran center has played for the Magic, Lakers and Rockets and has career averages of 18.3 points, 12.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots per game.
