Rockets Injury Update: Terrence Jones remains out indefinitely

By on 12/09/2014 09:30:00 AM

The Houston Rockets head into tonight's battle against the Golden State Warriors coming off a 100-95 win over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. At 16-4, the Rockets sit on top in the Southwest Division, tied with the Memphis Grizzlies. The Rockets continue to play without Terrence Jones, who remains out indefinitely with a nerve condition in his leg.

I reported on November 19 that Jones, who had been dealing with a leg contusion, would miss another month of action. Now it appears that estimate was conservative.

Jonathan Feigen, who covers the Rockets for the Houston Chronicle, tweeted the following on Jones' status. added that  Jones is improving with his nerve issue but at one point he had no feeling in his leg and toes, indicating the severity of the condition. There is still no timetable for his return, so expect Donatas Motiejunas to continue to see a large load of minutes at power forward.

Jones, in his third NBA season, is averaging 14 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots in four games this season. Last year, he averaged 12.1 points and 6.9 rebounds in 71 games. Jones has career averages of 10.9 points on 53.2 percent shooting from the floor and 6.3 rebounds per game.
