Hunter suffered an unusual injury during the Titans 45-21 loss to their AFC South rival Texans; a lacerated spleen. Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the wide receiver was injured during the first quarter on a hard hit from Texans Danieal Manning. Hunter attempted to return to the game in the second half, but stomach pains forced him out of the game. He was sent to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
As of Sunday night, Hunter was still in the hospital and there were no immediate plans for surgery to repair the injured spleen. Titans wide receivers Nate Washington and Kendall Wright both reached out to their teammate after the game, offering their well wishes.
A second year player out of the University of Tennessee, Hunter hauled in one catch for 18 yards before being forced out of the game. On the season, he's fourth on the Titans with 28 receptions for 498 yards and three touchdowns.
