Mettenberger, who first sprained his shoulder in a week 13 loss in Houston, re-injured the shoulder last Sunday against the Giants. While some think he may be done for the season, Paul Kuharsky reports that Whisenhunt is still optimistic:
Whiz: "I'm telling you right here I am hopeful he will be back this year. Won't rule ZM him out until we know." Doubtful this week. #TitansIt's unlikely that Mettenberger will be able to go this Sunday, but it also appears that its too soon to say the quarterback is done for the year.

Taking over for the injured Jake Locker and under performing Charlie Whitehurst, the rookie sixth round pick out of LSU has started for the Titans since week eight. In six starts he's thrown for 1,412 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Jake Locker will retake his starting spot under center in Mettenberger's absence. With the Titans home against the similarly woeful Jets, Locker should be able to put up solid numbers against a Jets defense that allows the second highest QB rating against, at 107.3.
