Titans Injury Update: Zach Mettenberger hopeful to return Week 14

By on 12/02/2014 11:30:00 AM

The Tennessee Titans handed over the quarterback reigns to rookie Zach Mettenberger in week nine with the hopes of boosting their offense. While the Titans have yet to win with Mettenberger at the helm, he has done a decent job for a rookie. The Titans are hopeful he will continue to be their starter in Week 14 but after suffering a shoulder injury, compliments of J.J. Watt, that forced him to leave the Titans loss to the Texans, his status is up in the air.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt spoke to reporters on Monday and as the Titans official Twitter account reports, he is hopeful Mettenberger will be able to play:
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports, according to a source that spoke with Mettenberger, he suffered a grade one AC joint sprain in his right shoulder.

The Titans were hoping to be able to evaluate Mettenberger for the rest of the season as they attempt to rebuild a struggling program. As the week progresses they should have a better idea of his recovery and his availability for Sunday.
